Let Me Tell You About This One Time....

It happened in my first ever fashion class in the program over Zoom. The course was called Intro to Fashion, and I remember I did not have a clue about any fashion terminology or even any experience; I joined the program because I loved the concept of fashion and it was something I was passionate about. I remember my professor, which is also the chair of fashion, circling around the Zoom asking us what we thought about sustainability. I had not even heard of the word until that day and completely froze up when my professor called on me, a mistake I felt like it would be hard to redeem myself from. Sustainability is now something I talk about every single day. It is so interesting to see everything become full circle as I now am a Senior in the program. If you would have told freshman year me that I would learn and come this far in the program or even serve as Treasurer for the NRFSA, I would have not believed you. The best advice I could give to someone entering this program is to trust the process and positively and consistently remind yourself what is in store for your future self!
